Apollo Tour

Yoga, cycling and hiking in the land of Gods

All participants will be personally welcomed at Athens Airport and escorted to their apartments in the ancient city of Lavrio. The two guest apartments are new, and each consist of three double rooms with kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast is included in the price in the form of a well-stocked refrigerator. Any additional special culinary requirements must be made by the participants themselves in one of the nearby supermarkets.

Ancient monuments or modern culture – the port city of Lavrio offers a bit of everything. With its early history of mining on the Attica coast, it is known for its ore mining. In ancient times, the wealthy people helped defend Greece. Through generous donations in the form of 200 modern warships, the oppression by the Persians could be ended. The victory gave birth to democracy in Greece. In ancient times, up to 30,000 people worked in the mines in the Lavriotiki region. The oldest Greek amphitheater known for its oval shape, Thoriko, dates from this period.

Zeus und Apollo, stands for German management, easy access to history and culture and relaxed owner-guided tours. At the first dinner together in a typical Greek tavern, we will inform you about the course of our joint active week. We are happy to answer all of your open questions. As your tour guide, I am always available and for your safety we ensure you will be accompanied throughout with the Zeus and Apollo tour bus.

After a small “hello wake up snack” we have an energetic start into our day with a relaxing yoga session.

After breakfast, we are going to pick up our branded Cube bikes. The essence of mountain biking, distilled into its purest for – that’s the beauty of the Cube Aim Hardtail MTB. Whether you are a new rider or a seasoned racer our Cube Bikes will match your requirements.

There is also a limited quantity of Cube e-bikes (for an additional charge of 20 euros) available. The bike configuration that suits you best will be set individually by a specialist. Our escort bus is available for the entire cycle route to bridge difficult sections of the route.

We cycle through the 3,000 year old ancient mining history to the ancient mining town of Agios Konstantinos. We make our first stop in the beautiful Orthodox Church of Ag. Constantine. The story goes that the apostle Paul stayed in this church on one of his trips to Athens. Let yourself be impressed by the great views on this route. We cycle on through the hilly landscape to the coastal town of Saronida on the Attic Riviera.

There we will have another yoga session on the beach. We can stay in one of the numerous beach clubs to swim and relax. Your swimming suits are ready in our support vehicle. Then we drive back to Lavrio to our accomodation. The time until dinner
is yours to enjoy. We will oracle about the experience with ambrosia, wine and divine food in a classic Greek tavern. By the way, wine is a gift from the Gods, it was given to people as a mercy.

We enjoy breakfast on the ferry, which we take from Lavrio at 8:15 am. If you want, you can take a care package from our refrigerator. Coffee or tea is available at the on-board bar. During the crossing through the Eastern Cyclades, we pass the island of Makronissos. In ancient times, the beautiful Helena, wife of the King of Troy, was stolen from Paris on this island and hidden there. This was the trigger for the Trojan War.

After about 1 hour on the ferry we arrive in Kea in the port of Korissia. The island of Kea, which has been completely spared from mass tourism, is a natural paradise with many facets. For example, the largest oak forests in Europe grow there. In the past, leather was tanned with the broth of these acorns without any chemicals. At the start of our Kea Tour we will visit this factory on the Red Tractor Farm, where this old custom was brought back to life. Depending on the weather, we will take a yoga class in one of the many wonderful places during the hikes and sightseeing tour.

We continue on our exploration tour along the old paths in search of the Nymphs of the island of Kea. Then on to Gialiskari, to Vourkari Beach with its noble yachts and to Otzias Bay, with the opportunity to linger or enjoy a swim.

Then we hike uphill towards Kastriani. In the midst of wild Cypress trees, the monastery with its deep blue dome and white outer walls is enthroned on a cliff high above the sea – the great location allows a wonderful view over to the islands of Andros and Evia, as well as the notorious Devil’s Island, Jaros. We continue to the island’s capital, Ioulida, for a well earned lunch. There is time to discover the traditional, car-free, old streets in the Chora. There is also the opportunity to stock up on souvenirs and memories. Strengthened, we go back in search of the missing Nymphs. In ancient times, a lion was sent by the gods to drive the Nymphs off the island. Please have your cameras ready. If you capture a photo of these shy women, you will continue the tour with a golden laurel wreath. After the return journey in the evening with the ferry from Kea to Lavrio, the evening is yours to enjoy.

After breakfast we start with our bikes from Lavrio along one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Greece to Cape Bay. On this route we always have a direct view of the outstanding azure blue sea. On arrival in Cape Bay we will spend time with yoga on the beach and swimming until 2 p.m.

We drive back with our tour bus to the Poseidon Temple at Cape Sunion. There we pay homage to the God of the sea. Our tour bus has snacks, drinks and fruit ready for you. It is possible to visit this sight at your own expense or simply linger to enjoy a coffee and the magnificent panorama.

What would a trip to Greece be without Greek wine and its numerous fish or meat taverns, of course there will be also plenty of vegetarian options available.

Depending on our taste, after visiting the temple we will go to one of our favourite restaurants in Voulagmeni, where we will indulge in culinary delights.

You can expect authentic dishes and excellent Greek wines.

After breakfast we start at 9:30 to the salt cave in Glyfada.

The orange-tones system was designed for halotherapy (halo comes from the Greek “salt”) to detoxify the respiratory organs, to bring the nervous system into balance and to give the immune system a boost – to name just a few of its benefits. With its high mineral content and its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, concentrated salt can alleviate skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema, regulate sleep patterns and even help with chronic conditions such as asthma and rheumatism.

On site there is the opportunity to have relaxing Thai or oil massages or a beauty treatment by expert hands. These treatments are available at additional cost. Then we drive back to our apartment. At around 2:30 p.m. we start to the beach in Punta Sesa, which is just outside Lavrio. There we linger for a swim and relaxion with a meditative yoga class.

In the evening we take a walk through Lavrio with its unique ancient past. Then we go to dinner together.

We starting the day positively at 9:30 am for a relaxed yoga session.
After breakfast, we take the tour bus to Athens.
You have the opportunity to visit the Acropolis individually, where the Goddess Athena resided as an oversized gold statue. It was the state treasure of Athens. Alternatively, you can visit the very interesting, new, air-conditioned, Acropolis Museum. You can conquer the city alone or with us. We’ll meet again at 3 p.m. Our tour bus takes us a short distance along the coastal road, past the popular beach clubs with great views of the surrounding islands. Our destination is Lake Vouliagmeni,

one of the last stops on our Gods tour. This small freshwater lake is fed by subterranean currents that seep through the Ymittos mountain range. The lake is just a few meters from the seashore at the foot of a rocky hill. It is constantly being supplemented by both the sea and the underground thermal springs. A well-deserved swim of the gods in this lake with its therapeutic properties and mineral ingredients such as potassium, sodium, lithium, ammonium, calcium, iron, chlorine and iodine, combined with high salt concentrations and the high temperatures, ends our days together. Our tour bus takes us one last time along the sea road back to Lavrio, where we meet for a last dinner and review of the great days together.

A pleasant journey home to all of you. If you liked it, spread the word. If not, kindly tell us.
We look forward to a reunion. Maybe next time you come with your family, friends, with your company or simply because you liked it so much. We are also happy to organize individual tours. We wish you all the very best, good health and always a hand’s breadth of asphalt under your wheels.
